There’s more than one “Terminator” in the news these days. In fact I have some spectacular photos of a couple of them in action. It seems it’s not just seeds and nuts upon which our feathered friends thrive.
Please be advised that these photos contain graphic acts of ornithological violence, however, Mother Nature is responsible for the food chain and just be thankful that you are higher up than these guys. By the time I finished posting these photos I was scratching my head a lot.

Twisting for Termites
I love birds! Thanks
Hi Esther, I know you do and our friend, Murray is a never-ending source. I have so many more of all kinds. But isn’t the woodpecker amazing he twisted his head almost upside down to grab the termite!
Now this was funny…I loved the spider.
Dang! I’ve never seen a purple bird. You learn something new everyday!
It is a Purple Grackle, they are iridescent!
I absolutely love watching birds! I have tons of feeders in my yard. I especially love the hummingbirds. When I see them, they remind me of Mom. She always got so excited when they started coming around every year. It’s so nice to look out my kitchen window, sipping coffee, and it’s so quiet. I watch the cardinals, blue jays, woodpeckers, grossbeaks, robins, finches, and of course, the hummingbirds. I find it calming. Love the pics!
Hi Ruby,
I love hummingbirds too but I don’t think I would get any up here. Every now and then I would see one in Vermont but mostly I saw them in Arkansas and especially in the Bahamas . They are quite the creature of God.
