There are so many clever ideas out there and my friend Gail sent me a link to one that had a whole list of what I call Helpful Hints and Good To Know. I thought I’d pick out ten for today and share them with you.

Uh Oh INK !!
- To remove ink from clothes: Put toothpaste on the ink spots generously and let it dry completely, then wash.
- To give a shine to your hair: Add one teaspoon of vinegar to hair, then wash. (I knew this one!)
- To avoid tears while cutting onions: Chew gum
- To get pure and clean ice: Boil the water before placing tray in freezer.
- To get maximum juice from a lemon: Soak lemons in hot water for an hour and then juice OR I just roll them on the counter under the palm of my hand.
- To avoid the smell of cabbage while cooking it: Keep a piece of bread on the cabbage while cooking. (That could be tricky).
- To remove gum from clothes: Put the cloth in the freezer for an hour. Then scrape off.
- To skin sweet potatoes easily: Soak in cold water immediately after boiling.
- To make a mirror shine: Clean with Sprite
- To whiten white clothes: Soak white clothes in hot water with a slice or two of lemon for about 10 minutes.
#8: Why would you want to skin sweet potatoes – or any potatoes – for that matter? I always use potatoes with the skin – it’s healthier and you’d never know the difference. (One cook’s opinion. Just saying….)
I agree, I love the skins on baked and roasted potatoes but if you wanted to mash sweet potatoes and I do have a great Thanksgiving dinner recipe for Sweet Potato Puff, I would peel them. I appreciate your comment and thanks for stopping by my blog today. Come back again.
