Thank God it wasn’t a Tea Party being held in Boston but rather a Halloween party for kids in the South End. A gathering at the Ringold Playground for some fun and treats and to meet up with friends. Then the Boston police park a cruiser to block automobile traffic on several streets forming a safe square of blocks where the kids can trick or treat. And something I never saw before but realize it probably takes place in NYC wherever there are brownstones – the homeowners sat on the steps enjoying the parade of costumed and sugared-up kids as well as maybe sipping a glass of wine while handing out the candy. It was great fun to see Finny run up to the steps and ask for candy with her sweet “Trick or Treat“. We spent two days teaching her the concept of saying ‘trick or treat” for candy and “thank-you” and what happened was that most adults greeted the kids with “Happy Halloween”! That works of course with slightly older kids but it was funny to watch Finny just look at them while she reached into the candy bowl.
I saw a couple of kids at the playground whose costumes were just too cute and took a few photos.

Aw Lori you took some nice photos of the kiddies. They all look cute especially the Princess!
I was just picturing baby captain hook and the Princess together…too cute!
The princess really got into the routine. She ran up to the buildings way ahead of me and just piped up “trick or treat”!!! On the other hand, the little pirate seemed rather quiet.
Aw a quiet Pirate. One day he will grown into his hearty way. I am over here grunting like a pirate, lol.
Lora you are too funny!!! What sha cookin today? I’m making two soups.
🙂 I love that. I even have some of my German friends saying that “What Sha Cooking?” sound funny and cute at the same time. Friday are my nights off. I am off duty:) Typically we would go grocery shopping but hubby came home late and we had a little left over from yesterday. I have tons of photos in my camera of food I literally take photos of. Tonight I am thinking to post the Pork Schnitzel with the Gypsie sauce.
A lot of people do not know about Gypsy sauce which is sold in America. In Germany it is call Ziguener Sauce. The sauce is so thick that you can add water to it and it is still thick. So tonight I will be introducing a sauce that they have both in America and here, but people over looked it because they might not know what it is use for. I am guilty of that. This is why I love it here. I am going beyond my comfort zone and exploring!
What types of soups are you making?
HI Lora, the best laid plans yada yada yada. I didn’t make any soups today so I will be up early tomorrow morning and making the Butternut Squash and Chicken soup and Hearty Beef Minestrone. What happened today was a really late start and we went to 3 thrift shops and for us that’s like shopping at Saks Fifth Ave. I bought some Christmas plates and a few other things. So supper was bought at our favorite grocery store which we didn’t leave until after six pm so no way I was bringing everything home and starting to cook then. Anyway, I am interested in this gypsy sauce so I assume you are posting it and will check your two blogs.
The Minestrone sounds interesting. I have been cooking my own soup for a year now. lol, I don’t blame you not too cook after a long day. It sounded like you also had a fun day at shopping.
Don’t you know Lori. It is good to finally hear another person mention getting some type of Christmas decoration/item. Everyone think it is better to wait as soon as December come. Not understanding all the logic to it. But what ever float their boats.
The Gypsy sauce I place on FB. I don’t use the old blog at all just Life in a Nutshell. The old blog I felt limited to talk only about Germany. Life in a Nutshell/liferealities I can just chat a bit about many things like you do in your blogs without feeling any restrictions.
