And in Paris they protest!

Every day is a holiday of OMG with Donald Trump.  He actually tweeted that slur about  FEDERAL JUDGE James Robart! Who is this person? He’s not my president – yes I said it! I have a pin that says it too.  How can he be my so-called president when almost 3 MILLION people voted against him and defeated him in the popular vote.   That must be a real blow to the egomaniac sleeping in the White House, considering he considered himself the populace candidate.  And hasn’t he proven that to be true – lol, lol, his cabinet nominees are mostly Goldman Sachs present and past employees.  Seriously don’t you agree that Goldman Sachs is a company completely aligned and committed to the populace?  Ironic isn’t it that he had so many people believing that it was Hillary who was in bed with Goldman Sachs.  I have to laugh because I said so very often during the campaign that most of which he accused and implied and inferred about Hillary were merely projections of his own thoughts and behavior.  I suppose I shouldn’t complain because I live in Manhattan where Wall Street rules and keeps our City economy robust especially in real estate.  I feel sorry for all those people who live in the middle of the country and somehow really thought he was the candidate for the real people.  History should have informed you better, no Republican president has ever advocated for the blue collar worker, the middle class and the union worker.

Somebody really has to cancel his Twitter account.  Because every time he tweets, he makes an ass out of himself.  Then again, on the other hand, the pundits, the comedians, the late night talk show hosts and the bloggers (like me) are pretty happy with the constant supply and flow of content.

I’ve spent the day watching protests around the country protesting his ill-thought-out and thinly-veiled Muslim ban.  He can call it whatever he wants, Rudy eagerly took credit for the idea, the plan on how to put such a ban in place and yet make believe it is something else.  Unfortunately for them, we don’t all live in an alternate universe where alternate facts exist.  There are signs  that state NO BAN NO WALL as well as placards protesting practically every one of his so-called Executive Orders.

About a month ago, Senate candidate Todd Aiken dropped a couple of verbal bombshells in the midst of the presidential campaign much to the dismay of MOST Republicans.  He declared  to the world that a woman’s body has the ability to often prevent conception after a legitimate rape.  Like the shot heard ’round the world, the news wires lit up, the pundits fell over themselves head-shaking and finger-pointing at the bad boy from Missouri.  The RNC said it would not spend any money on ads for him, Governor Romney called for his resignation from the race and on and on.  BUT, Aiken did not withdraw from the Senatorial race and now that it is apparent that many of the states Republicans assumed they would win, may go the way of the Democrats, it has become a mandate to secure as many House seats as possible.

Missouri must be saved – But how to do this now?  Romney can’t back down, the RNC isn’t going to back down too much BUT wait, there are surrogates that can speak.  What a terrific idea- We (The Republican Party) will order some of the well-known Party members who are NOT running for anything anymore to lend their support to this weak link.  Better to have a Republican in the Senate seat regardless of how crazy his must be than having a Democrat sitting there.  And so the Party faithful have been trotted out ALL IN ONE WEEK, to stand behind Todd Aikin in the hope that their mere presence will whitewash that bad taste in everyone’s mouth and mind.

So Newt, Rick and Jim hung their principles (if they ever had any) in the closet , packed their bags and hit the road to campaign for Todd Aiken.  Uh huh, that’s what I think!

Politics has always made strange bedfellows, but this is so transparent and very, very strange!

Official photographic portrait of US President...

President Barrack Obama

It’s been an emotional three nights watching the DNC.  And I’m SO SURPRISED at myself because I didn’t think I cared as much as I do or that I was as afraid as I am.

Last week watching the Republican Convention, I was disturbed by the misquotes, distortions and downright lies.  BUT not to the point of arguing with anyone about it…No, it was more like a malaise, a mild depression set in.  I’ve been complacent and I think SO many of us who supported Barrack Obama four years ago, have become complacent.  And complacency is fertile ground for a disastrous upset.  We CANNOT let that happen!  I’m so glad I’ve watched the Democratic National Convention these past 3 nights because I am REALLY UPSET now!  I realize I have to sit up and take notice, speak up about my candidate, refute distortions, all the while trying to keep politics out of my friendships because I have several Republican friends.

The thing is being Republican is fine but not this new Republican mind set which seems to be based in racism, hate and distrust.  I saw on some station last week a bunch of hate posters, racist depictions of our President, angry words scrawled and this was in Tampa.  Extremism in anything is never a good thing as far as I’m concerned.

But this begs the question, Why am I crying?  NOT because of any of the above, but rather because my emotions are running so high, there’s been a lump in my throat every night, my eyes have filled with tears.  Why?

BECAUSE:

Michelle Obama is a lovely lady, who spoke from her heart.  She was invigorated with emotion and passion and of course she was also saying things I wanted to hear about women’s rights, the right to get equal pay, the right to choose what to with our own bodies.  I’m not a pro-abortionist, I’m not a right-to-lifer, but I am about rights!

Former President Bill Clinton moved my heart, my mind, and my soul.  I wept with admiration for his ability to capture the attention of thousands of viewers who listened with rapt attention.  He was AMAZING! He should have been a preacher (lol, lol,)well maybe not exactly a man of the cloth.  I was so damn proud to have supported him and voted for him.  Last night I was so damn proud to a Democrat, to be in the same party of beliefs that spawned the likes of John F. Kennedy, Franklin Roosevelt, Hubert Humphrey, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Barrack Obama.

And tonight between tearing up while Gabby Giffords pledged allegiance to our flag and Jennifer Granholm shouting out the f…….g NUMBERS that saved our economy from tanking further, possibly into a real depression- Had all those jobs been lost, the foreclosures would have been overwhelming and thousands of people would have gone bankrupt, lost their homes and gone onto welfare.  If that weren’t enough for one evening, we got Joe Biden.

The pundits are right when they say don’t underestimate Joe, he is REAL, he speaks the truth, he has lived the way MOST of us have lived and he just talks about what he knows. He was spot on tonight!

Helloooooo President Obama! I’m already teary so it won’t take much to make me cry some more.  As I type this, he is speaking and so far the tone and temperament of his speech is clearly about what he has done, what he knows he has to do, why he should do it AND this is what we NEED to hear. This is why we should re-elect him and let him finish the job he has so intelligently started.  And I am truly glad that so far he has not plucked at the strings of my heart.

I am crying because I’m thrilled with the caliber of speakers of these past three nights.  I’m crying because their ideology is based in humanity, because the ideals and proposals have their root in benefiting the most not just the few, because at my age, I have lived through a couple of recessions, watched and waited for the trickledown to actually drip down enough so I could taste it, because perhaps they are all about the middle class.  Hey I was born into the middle class, I am still in the middle class and 99.9% of all the people I know in my life are in the middle class.  It’s a BIG class, some making huge salaries, some just enough to be comfortable…yes it is a BIG class and since there are many more of us than them, I’m glad my party is working hard to keep the middle class intact.

This is why I’m crying tonight!

CONSPIRACY THEORY WEDNESDAY

Conspiracy theories have been around a long, long time.  Some resurrect themselves periodically and some die a natural death or are replaced by even better ones!

BIG BROTHER is watching you and me….When the government-forced transition to digital TV was made, many theorists believed that miniature cameras and microphones were built into the newer TV sets and in the set top boxes;  all the better to spy on  you my dear.  And then there was the mind control factor.  By using digital technology, subliminal messages and advertising could be directed at viewers.   Just think how easy it would be to subvert your mind and feelings?

Whoooooeeee this is a good one for the books!

Shame on Peter King!

This post was supposed to be yesterday’s Conspiracy Theory Wednesday and once again I find myself apologizing for being late.  Oh well….

It’s not that there’s any lack of crazy conspiracy theories out there;  I just have to search and read through to see if it this stuff is even readable.  But no problem this week, because of on New York‘s very own U.S. Representative Peter King has raised Islamphobia to a new level of histrionics.  And with that comes a whole slew of way out there conspiracy theories.

Have you heard of the Shari’ah Conspiracy Theory? No, well then you must read this.  If you regularly read this blog I know you’re probably wondering why does she want me to read about another fringe lunatic thought process?  Wellllll…..because every now and then I have to remind myself that these people actually vote and procreate and omg, you have got to know who is out there beyond your own comfort zone of intelligence.  Scary? Yes! But knowledge is power and in order to fight the craziness, you need to know from whence it came.

Welcome to the Shari’ah Conspiracy Theory Industry

I strongly suggest you copy and paste the link and have yourself an enlightening good time reading this.   Here’s a  passage and teaser for you;

“Anti-Muslim diatribe and activity have reached what Marshall Breger, a law professor at Catholic University, an Orthodox Jew and a Republican, has described as a “season of singular national distemper where, for reasons best understood by social psychiatrists, the American people have entered into what can only be described as ‘open season’ on Islam.”  …Alternet.org

There is a cottage industry of anti-Muslim fearmongers among us!

There Must Be A Revolution Going On!

CONSPIRACY THEORY WEDNESDAY

Just when you think you’ve heard them all, rest assured you have NOT!  Conspiracy Theory Wednesday is in full swing because the Tea Party Movement is chock full of conspiracy theories.  As long as they spout them, I’ll print them.

This one is a doozy!  Both Democrats and Republicans agreed that Bill Clinton had great charisma and charmed crowds but…hypnotizing ??

I have copied this article from Mother Jones. Dave Gilson,  senior editor at Mother Jones posted this article in April 2009.

The Conspiracy: Barack Obama is not just an unusually eloquent speaker; he is an expert in mass hypnosis (hopenosis?). By tapping into the sinister techniques of neuro-linguistic programming, the president subliminally convinced Americans to elect him—and who knows what he’ll make us do next? Among his “trance induction” tricks: “extra slow speech, rhythm, tonalities, vagueness, visual imagery, metaphor, and raising of emotion.” And his “O” logo was even designed to look like a crystal ball.

The Conspiracy Theorists: The Obama-as-brainwasher-in-chief theory was first presented in an unsigned 67-page document posted on an Arizona libertarian’s website last October. It was picked up by conservative blogs, message boards, and Rush Limbaugh, who told listeners that “a bunch of surgeons and doctors” had diagnosed Obama’s “hypnotic effect.” “The people most susceptible to neuro-linguistic programming are young people and highly educated people,” he explained. “I find it interesting, too, that many Jewish voters are supporting Obama…Maybe it is hypnosis.”

Meanwhile, Back on Earth: We elected a president who uses rhythm, tonality, and visual imagery in his speeches? My God, what have we done? Does that mean that red-staters are immune to his awesome mesmerizing powers? And why can’t he use self-hypnosis to quit smoking?

I think it’s important to inject some humor into our week, don’t you?  Thank the Tea Partiers for this opportunity to laugh out loud at your computer screen.

The "Second Revolution" flag, first ...

The Second Revolution Flag

I am continuing with the format of exposing and/or bringing to light some of the myriad conspiracy theories that abound – most especially within the Tea Party movement.   They (the Tea Party) make it so easy for me – there are lots of articles out there about their conspiracy theories and most recently about the distancing between that fringe group and the core membership of the Republican Party.

I’ve copied and pasted the first paragraph of the article written in The Atlantic Wire and below that is the link to the entire article.

“The Tea Party movement proudly boasts an anti-establishment, anti-incumbent, small-government worldview. But, as a movement, it continues to struggle with its conspiracy-minded roots. Andrew Breitbart and other conservatives recently rejected a high-profile birther speech at the first Tea Party convention in Nashville. There, the tension between the Tea Party’s mainstream political ambitions and its vocal, conspiracy-theorist fringe was on full display. Clearly, the conspiracy theorists do not make up the whole of the Tea Party, but they are just as clearly a force within the movement. Why is this strain so strong?”

The rest of the article is below:
