Official White House portrait of Lyndon B. Johnson

Lyndon Johnson

WELL, WELL, well, here we are…at the end of the long and winding road, having worked our way through a tangled, convoluted web of detail to the conclusion of the conspiracy theory known as COUP D’ETAT. We’ve found ourselves on the streets of Chicago, New York and in Texas, Cuba and Russia.  This is the 35th and last installment; it’s taken nearly 9 months to reach it, sort of like giving birth to a new truth!

For those of you who would like to go back and re-read some of the steps we took to get here, you can do so by clicking on Conspiracy Theory Wednesday in my category column on the home page.  For those of you who are still dis-believers, I say, “Go to another source, use Google and type in the names, places and incidents that have been chronicled here these past many weeks and you will SEE that herein lies the truth.

Lyndon Johnson‘s political career was mired in corruption.  In 1946, he got a local official to certify 200 fake ballots, literally stealing the election to become U.S> Senator by 87 votes.  In 1949, a tv newsman investigating Texas votee fraud was killed.  In 1952, his assassin wwas found hanged in his jail cell after he offered to reveal teh location of the missing frudulent ballots.

Two scandals rocked Johnson’s vice-presidency.  First was his involement with Texas wheeker-dealer Billie Sol Estes, who frudulently colledcted millions in federal agricultural subisides for non-existent cotton farms.    In 1985, Estes testified that Johnson had ordered the death of Henry Marshall, who had been investigating the scam.  Then came the exposure of links between Johnson aide Bobby Baker and Irving Davidson, the Murchisons, the teamsters, and Carlos Marcello.  It is alleged that during the 1950’s  Senator Johnson recieved $500,00 in cash from Marcello’s racing wire and slot machine profits in return for killing anti-racketeering legislation.

Johnson’s long time mistress Madeleine Brown claimed Johnson told her Kennedy’s death was “ordered by American oil men and the CIA“, and he knew of it in advance.  Whatever the truth of these allegations, within hour s of becoming president, Johnson made Texas officials halt their inquiry and turn all their evidence over the FBI, thus putting the investigation into the hands of his old friend, J. Edgar Hoover, who promptly stopped FBI participation in the Attorney General’s probe of Baker’s mob ties.  In January 1964, Johnson made Hoover FBI Director for life.  Later, his Executive Order 11652 locked assassination evidence in the National Archives until the year 2039.

One would have to ask themselves, “Why”?

J. Edgar Hoover - The Untouchable

You can’t get much closer to the truth (?) than you will today because by this time next week we will have reached the conclusion of the conspiracy theory, COUP D”ETAT.  Over the past several months, week by week,  inch by convoluted inch the theory has taken us on a path leading to the highest offices in the land.  Haven’t you been amazed at the array of characters and players in this unfolding tale.  Gangsters, CIA, Mafia, FBI, politicians, actresses, dictators and the list goes on….This week’s title: The Untouchable and  I don’ t mean Elliot Ness!  Who was the most untouchable of all – J. Edgar Hoover.

The Untouchable

J. Edgar Hoover hated the Kennedys and refused to cooperate with them in their crackdown on organized crime, because, in his opinion, organized crime didn’t exist. Yet he spent his vacations gambling at Delmar racetrack and relaxing at the Del Charro motel, notorious hangouts for top-level mobsters (and both owned by his pals, the Texas Murchisons), and he often met privately with Mafia “Prime Minister” Frank Costello.  It has been alleged that Hoover had a secret hit squad of mob assassins recruited with Costello’s help.  The day after Kennedy died, the FBI taped gangster Chuckie Inglese telling his boss, Sam Giancano, “two months from now the FBI will be like it was five years ago.  They won’t be around no more.”

Hoover’s power resided in the confidential files.  During the  Warren Commission Investigation, for instance, he collected derogatory materials on Commission members and their staff.  He also investigated the sex lives of prominent people, especially homosexuals, but ironically, it is rumored that Hoover’s own alleged  homosexuality may have subjected him to blackmail by gangster, Meyer Lansky.

Private corporations, government, and the media were infiltrated with ex-FBI agents who, while no longer on the payroll, remained loyal to Hoover.  This may shed light on the true role of ex-FBI agents like Guy Bannister, William Harvey, Robert Maheu, Jim Garrison, and Secret Service Chief James Rowley.  The true nature of FBI links to Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby have never been revealed, but there certainly were ties between the FBI and both men, and by controlling the investigation, Hoover was in a position to obscure the trail of the assassins.

Only 3 more weeks before we wrap up the twisting, turning, yet ever-inching closely to the highest offices in the country and to those whose very fortunes relied on getting rid of John F. Kennedy!!!

New Orleans Mafia don Carlos Marcello (born Calagero Minacore) was a protegé of New York mob boss, Frank Costello.  By 1963 Marcello ran a multi-million dollar empire spread over several states, including Texas, yet according to New Orleans FBI agent Regis Kennedy, he was a mere tomato salesman earning $1600 a month.  In 1961, Attorney General Robert Kennedy, aware that Marcello held only a questionable Guatemalan passport, had him abducted, flown to Guatemala City and unceremoniously dumped.  After sneaking back to the U.S. via Miami, Marcello was heard making threats against Robert Kennedy.  A Marcello associate to the HSCA that in 1962 Marcello had said, “Don’t worry about that little Bobby son-of-a-bitch, he’s going to be taken care of”.  He also supposedly spoke of using a nut, someone who couldn’t be traced back to him to kill the President.  But Oswald would have been a poor choice for Marcello, since his uncle and surrogate father, Dutz Murret, was a bookie for Marcello lieutenant, Nofio Pecora, and Oswald’s associate David Ferrie had helped plan legal strategy for Marcello’s deportation hearings and was with him in court the morning of the assassination.  Marcello also had strong ties to Jack Ruby‘s friend, Dallas Mafia chief, Joe Civello.

Marcello’s operations benefited greatly from the largess of Hoffa’s Teamster Pension Fund.  In 1965-7, with the help of lobbyist Irving Davidson, and $1 million dollars donated by his mob friends, Marcello spearheaded the “Save Hoffa” movement, later to become the “Spring Hoffa” movement.  Currently serving time for wire and mail fraud, and reportedly suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, he is due to be released in 1994.

Conspiracy Theory Wednesday

I wonder how many readers of this blog are wondering when is she going to stop with this conspiracy thing? Well here’s the answer – this is week 29 of our delving into COUP D’ETAT which is what this theory has been called.  I know you know the meaning of the phrase BUT just in case there is someone  out there who does not, let me explain; Coup d’etat; “the sudden overthrow of a government usually by a small group of the existing state establishment…”. We have six more weeks to go and each week now the strands of  information are coming together to form a very tangled web.  We started at the ends (corners) of the web and are working our way to the middle.  As we explore, you see that the names are becoming more and more familiar.  Our middle is the upward climb to power and those that used their power to attain more power, ultimately a Coup d’etat.

I’m not alone in this long-held belief that President Kennedy’s murder was planned, plotted and executed by a group of individuals who had much to gain if John F. Kennedy were out of power and out of the picture.  Last week the New York Post featured an article about the auction of note handwritten by Evelyn Lincoln, John F. Kennedy’s personal secretary wherein she names possible suspects behind his assassination.  This historical piece of ephemera is estimated to sell for $30,000!! The link to the article is below.

John F. Kennedy secretary’s list of assassination suspects going up for auction – NYPOST.com.

When Robert Kennedy became Attorney General in 1961, he found FBI Chief J. Edgar Hoover uncooperative with his anti-crime campaign, so he formed his own intelligence unit, initiating massive illegal wire-tap operations against James Hoffa, Carlos Marcello and other mobsters, and political enemies such as State Department Security Evaluator Otto Otepka, who had rejected several Kennedy appointments as security risks.  Although Robert Kennedy had once worked for Joseph McCarthy and Otepka assisted the McCarthy-inspired Senate Subcommittee on Internal Security, in mid-1963 Otepka was suddenly moved to a less sensitive post, and his safe was drilled open.  Inside was found a study on American defectors to the U.S.S.R., including Lee Harvey Oswald, on whom Otepka hadfailed to issue a State Department “look-out card”.

While Robert may have suspected conspiracy in his brother’s death, he never publicly challenged the FBI’s findings.  Meanwhile, Hoover removed his private phone link to the Attorney General and did not speak to him for the next six months, after which Robert left his post.  Four years later, on the verge of capturing the Democratic nomination for the 1968 presidential race, Robert was killed by another lone nut, Sirhan Sirhan.  He may have taken to his grave the secret of his brother’s missing brain, which was removed (along with photos and 119 slides of tissue section) from the autopsy materials  before 1967, probably on orders from Robert himself, according to the HSCA.  Did he take this evidence into safe-keeping because he intended, once he became President, to reveal a conspiracy cover-up?

Have I caught y0ur attention? If you’re new to the blog or these posts, you can go back to the beginning of the theory by clicking on Conspiracy Theory Wednesday in my category column.

The Cuban leader Fidel Castro.

Image via Wikipedia

Over the years there have been HUNDREDS of articles filled with speculation that the MOB, MAFIA and CIA were involved in the murder of President John F. Kennedy.  COUP D”ETAT is a conspiracy theory and the title says it all – READ on….

In the last months of the Eisenhower Administration, secret meetings mediated by ex FBI agent and Howard Hughes aide Robert Maheu were held between CIA agents and organized crime figures for the purpose of plotting to kill Fidel Castro.  By 1960, the Cuban leader had nationalized U.S. interest, closed casinos, shut down drug labs and deported most of the mobsters.  The gangster with the most to gain from the elimination of Castro was Santo Trafficante Jr., former Mafia boss of Havana who with his partner, casino developer and financial wizard, Meyer Lansky, had inherited Lucky Luciano‘s heroin operations.  Trafficante financed terrorist raids against Cuba run by CIA agent Frank Sturgis‘ Miami-based International Anti-Communist Brigade.  In 1962, Trafficante told Cuban exile and FBI informant Jose Aleman that “Kennedy is in trouble and he will get what is coming to him…Kennedy is not going to make it to the election.  He’s going to be hit.”  West Coast mobster Johnny Rosselli, another CIA-Mafia plotter, later alleged that Castro was warned of plans to kill him by a double-agent, possibly Trafficante, and that Castro, assuming the plots to be official US policy had killed Kennedy in retaliation.

The Kennedy brothers did not know about the CIA-Mafia plots until 1962, when Robert Kennedy found the CIA interfering in Justice Department prosecution of first Mafia leader contacted by Maheu, Chicago boss Sam Giancana.  Participation in CIA-Mafia plots wasn’t Giancana’s only protection.  His girlfriend, Judith Campbell and President Kennedy had been lovers for two years.  In 1963, the Justice Department ordered the FBI to curtail surveillance of Giancana.

This is week 27 and who among you is with me on this?  Are you reading the Wednesday Conspiracy Theory blogs?  Do you think this theory is valid, does it ring true?  Remember what they say on RUBICON – Every conspiracy is not a theory”

After Kennedy’s death, French Intelligence asked the FBI to help locate Jean Souetre, a French Secret Army Organization (OAS) terrorist previously jailed for attempting to kill French President Charles De Gaulle.  According to a CiA document dated April 1,1964 (which surfaced in 1977), the French claimed Souetre was in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963, and was expelled by U.S. authorities 18 hours later.  Concerned with security for De Gaulle’s upcoming Mexican visit, they wanted to know whether he had been sent to Mexico or Canada.

When Jack Ruby was jailed for killing Lee Oswald, his lawyer asked him if he knew anyone who could damage his defense.  Ruby mentioned Thomas Eli Davis III with whom he had run guns and jeeps to Cuba.  In 1963, Davis, while on probation for bank robbery, obtained a U. S. passport.  By Decem ber he was in a Tangier jail, charged with running guns to the OAS.  According to the FBI, Moroccan authorities intercepted  a letter from Davis that referred to Oswald and the assassination.  Davis was apparently released from jail through the efforts for mysterious CIA agent code-named QJWIN, a foreign nation with Mafia connections who was recruited for the AZ/RIFLE team, a CIA assassination unit run by ex-FBI agent and Cuban exile handler William Harvey.

Is Jean Souetre QJ/WIN? OAS terrorists were deeply involved in heroin trafficking.  In 1963, the main American distributor of Marseilles-produced heroin was the Lucky Luciano syndicate run by Meyer Lansky and Tampa mafia boss Santos Trafficante Jr., formerly of Havana, who was William Harvey’s partner in the CIA-Mafia plots to kill Fidel Castro.

November 22, 1963 – John F. Kennedy was assassinated.  Do you believe one lone killer did this?  Really??  This is the 26th installment of the conspiracy theory, COUP D’ETAT.  The trail is leading us to a conspiracy formulated at the highest government levels.  You can read the entire conspiracy theory up to this point by clicking on the category, Conspiracy Theory Wednesday on my home page.

The Policeman’s Pimp – Jack Ruby

From his days as ” Sparky Rubenstein, errand boy for Al Capone, to his ownership of a string of Dallas nightclubs where policemen got preferential  treatment, Ruby was “one of our boys” according to mobster Johnny Roselli, with whom Ruby met twice during the month prior to the assassination.  Other gangster friends of Ruby’s included Joe Civello, Dallas Mafia chief: Barney Baker, teamster president Jimmy Hoffa‘s 370-lb bodyguard; and Dave Yaras, hitman  for Chicago mob boss Sam Giancanna.   Known as the guy who could “fix it” with e the police, Ruby counted ast least 100 Dallas cops among his pals.

Ruby’s self-professed idol was Lewis J. McWillie, a professional gambler who worked at te mob-owned  Tropicana Hotel in Havana.  In 1959, Ruby visited McWillie and the two met with crime boss Santos Trafficante Jr. then in a Cuban prison.  Shortly after Ruby’s return to Dallas, Trafficante was released.  The House Select Committee on Assassination suspected Ruby, acting as a gangland courier, had bought Trafficante’s freedom.  During the six-month period that included his Havana trip, the FBI interviewed Ruby eight times as a “potential criminal informant”.   For Ruby, this was not a first: in 1947 while still in Chicago, he “performed information functions” for the staff of then-Congressman Richard Nixon.

On June 7, 1964, Ruby told the Warren Commission his “life was in danger” – “Gentlemen,” he said, “if you want to hear further testimony, you will have to get me to Washington soon because…I want to tell the truth and I can’t tell it here”.  Before he died, he smuggled two letters out of prison which hint darkly that Lyndon Johnson was behind the conspiracy.

HAROLDSON LAFAYETTE HUNT in 1963, Dallas was a Mecca for the ultra-right, and H.L. Hunt was their Godfather.  An oil billionaire, Hunt supported right-wing causes such as the John Birch Society, William F.  Buckley’s Young Americans for Freedom (YAF), the political campaigns of Senator Joseph McCarthy, and the tax-exempt “news” organizations Facts Forum and Lifeline.  On Nov. 4, 1063, Hunt’s security chief, an ex-FBI agent, wrote Hunt a memo on “reports of possible violence” during Kennedy’s  upcoming trip.  Hours after the assassination, the FBI told Hunt to go into hiding, and for several weeks provided him with security.  Years later, Hunt’s personal aide alleged Hunt knew of the plot, having unwittingly influenced his right-wing followers to conspire to kill Kennedy.  He added that Hunt had sent him to check on Oswald’s security in police custody.  Though Hunt and Jack Ruby claimed not to know each other, a reliable witness alleged he and Ruby had won a considerable amount of money from Hunt, an inveterate gambler, wagering on football games.  Among Ruby’s effects was the phone number of H. L.’s son, Lamar Hunt, whose offices Ruby visited on November 21, 1963.Another son, Nelson Bunker Hunt, sat on the board of the anti-communist International Committee for the Defense of Christian Culture (led by a former Nazi Abwehr agent) and was a major backer of YAF.  Bunker helped buy an ad (placed by YAF’s future executive secretary) in the Dallas Morning News the day of Kennedy’s visit, portraying the President as a Kremlin dupe.  Texas Senator John Tower, a YAF board member, personally interceded in 1962 with the Immigration and Naturalization Service in the case of – Marina Oswald.

We are in the 18th week of exploring the conspiracy theory of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination.  There are literally millions of Americans that DO NOT BELIEVE Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in this deadly mission.

Lone assassins are on a mission and are proud of their accomplishment – they do not deny their actions.  Lee Harvey Oswald claimed he was innocent.

The FBI‘s interest in Oswald had begun in June 1960, while he was in the Soviet Union, when a memo from the FBI to the  State Department warned of the “possibility that an impostor is using Oswald’s birth certificate”.  His mother told the FBI that he had taken it with him, but he returned without it, and the document has never surfaced.  When questioned by Ft. Worth FBI agent Fain, Oswald offered to report any contacts with suspicious Soviets.  The FBI’s links to Oswald continued in New Orleans, where at his own request, he was interviewed by Agent  Quigley while under arrest for the street scuffle with Cuban exile Carlos Bringuier.  He was released shortly after paying a ten-dollar fine.  Guy Banister, with whom Oswald worked, was an ex-FBI agent said by some to have been secretly working for the FBI’s counter intelligence Division 5.

An hour after Oswald’s arrest, James Hosty, the Dallas FBI agent who monitored local Cuban-exile activities, burst into Police Headquarters with the news that Oswald was a “communist…capable of committing the assassination…”.  Though Hosty knew where Oswald worked, he had not warned the Secret Service or Dallas Police of the presence of this “dangerous” man along the motorcade route.  Strangely, Hosty’s name and phone number were found in Oswald’s address book; Texas justice officials alleged to the Warren Commission that the FBI   $200 a month for over a year as “Confidential Informant 179”.  In 1975 Hosty said Oswald had brought a note to his office weeks before the assassination asking him to leave Marina alone, but on the order of his superior, Gordon Shanklin , he had  destroyed it immediately after Oswald’s  death.

Week 17 – Delving into the COUP D’ETAT conspiracy is like peeling an onion, layer by layer.  The web of omissions, contradictions, deceptions, misconceptions and LIES unravels this theory week by week.

Marina Oswald

After Oswald’s arrest, his Russian-born wife, Marina, was quoted as saying, “Lee good man.  Lee not shoot anyone.”  For the next few months she was held in “protective custody” at the Inn of the Six Flags motel and questioned by agents of the Secret Service, the FBI, and the Great South West Corporation (owners of the motel, two of whose employees later became her legal representatives).  Despite the fact that Marina “lied repeatedly” to her captors, her testimony that Oswald owned and practiced with a rifle., and had previously tried to kill General Edwin Walker, was used to buttress the case against him.

Reinforcing her testimony was that of Mrs. Ruth Paine, with whom Marian had stayed for two months prior to the assassination in addition to confirming Marina’s story.  Paine cooperated with James Hosty, the agent who had charge of Oswald’s  FBI file.Hosty had interviewed Paine and Marina twice prior to November 22, and Paine later supplied him with evidence against Oswald.  While Paine and her temporarily estranged husband Michael were self-professed liberals, his family (with whom she lived for two months prior to harboring Marina) had intelligence connections: three close relatives were directors of the CIA-connected United Fruit Co. , his great-grandfather founded Bell Telephone, and he himself had a top security clearance at Bell Helico0per.  It was Ruth Paine who found Lee Oswald a job at the Texas School Book Depository.

Today, Marina states that threat of deportation were used to compel her testimony, that her husband was a federal agent who “adored” Kennedy, that someone impersonated Lee to incriminate him, and that he was killed to silence him.

Every Conspiracy is NOT a theory
