The New Black

The New Black

Black is the season-less color in Manhattan.

What to wear? Why black of course. Pastels in the Spring? No way! Black pencil skirts with crisp tailored shirts and black blazers. Black Tori Burch flats and you’re good to go until July.

Summer nights and strappy black sundresses are de riguer eveningwear. Rooftop bars look like giant moving inkblots from a distance. Here and there glints of silver and gold bounce off the setting sun.

Black jeans, black sweaters, black boots and black Northface parkas – I must be in a subway in February.

Black is the new black for every season!

I saw the usual signs; She was pale, haggard-looking and yet still animated. I tried to get her to listen knowing full well she wouldn’t. Yesterday she was so anxious to go out. Not home even an hour and she was jonesing to leave. Meeting her friends at the mall and then out to a movie. The night before she went to a party and even though she made it home by her midnight curfew, she was still up for hours on the phone. It’s no wonder she was feeling sick.  She was always burning the candle at both ends.

A Matter Of Taste

He loved it, she hated it. Things were going to change around here she thought.  No more college dorm room décor. Perhaps some nice yellow curtains would brighten up the den.  Moving some furniture around wouldn’t be a bad idea either.  Gathering up the piles of discarded newspapers, she hauled them out to the trash barrel.  After polishing the furniture and sweeping up the dust bunnies, things looked better already. But, something was still not quite right

Pulling into the driveway, his heart sank; there was his favorite leather chair!  The honeymoon’s over, he thought.

I NEED Coffee

Of course I know it’s silly, well actually I’m only saying that; I don’t really think it’s silly at all. Every morning I gotta have a Grande Americano!

Wherever I find myself – at home, or in another city or state, finding the nearest Starbucks is first on my list. Like any other addict, I have to make sure I know where my next fix is coming from!

One day last week, I had a cup of java-no Starbucks in sight. Soon my temples were pounding and then I knew my addiction was to Starbucks not caffeine.

Cocktail Glass (Martini): The traditional cock...

Last Night’s Martini Glass

Walking into the living room, she was assaulted with the visual cacophony of his clothes, his mail, his magazines, his shoes, jacket and tie and last night’s martini glass!  How many times had she asked him to put his stuff away? A hundred, a thousand? Nagging and yelling didn’t work.  Threatening to toss the stuff out fell on deaf ears.

She began to pick up various articles of clothing, grimacing at this relentless never-ending chore.  If only he would just clean up after himself, if only I didn’t give a shit the way he obviously doesn’t! Ridiculous! It’s enough already!

Women on Top: How Real Life Has Changed Women’s Sexual Fantasies (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

With each kiss Rose’s resolve slipped away.  It’s not as if she were a virgin but she  didn’t want Jack  thinking she was easy.  Up until tonight, they hadn’t gone much beyond necking and some heavy petting.  Now as Jack’s hands were cupping her breasts, she felt her nipples stiffen.  As he slid his hand up her thigh, she knew she couldn’t stop either herself or him.  Every nerve fiber in her body was screaming for more!  Rose fell into that delicious black hole of ecstasy and each wave  of orgasm took her beyond anything she had ever felt before.

I Even Asked Martha!

I don’t have a dishwasher so doing the dishes is done by hand by me in a plastic basin with hot water and Dawn. Silverware first, then glasses, then dishes. I change the water often and rinse everything in hot water.

My husband says I’m washing the dishes in dirty water! He thinks you should wash dishes under running water and doesn’t care about how much water he uses.

My mother washed dishes in a basin: This is how I LIKE doing the dishes.

I sent my question to “Ask Martha” but didn’t get an answer!
